Submission Guidelines

Technical Guidelines

·      Please include the following information with your submission:

      Your first and last name

      A telephone number

An email address (if you have one)

The commandment category and number you’re writing about.

This information can be found at:

      Torah613

The above information is for the sole use of the project coordinator. Upon publication of your article to the SOOJ website, only your name as author will be listed unless you state otherwise. Your contact information, along with a website if you have one, will not be included unless you expressly request it.

·      For the majority of your text, we would prefer the font be Times New Roman, 12pt. Regular. Use of another font may require substitution during the editing process and this (everyone using Times 12 reg.) will make things more uniform.

·      We’d like the paragraph format to be fully-justified, single spaced. A quote can be indented 1 inch from both sides.

·      We hope that your article will require little to no editing. However, any necessary editing will be automatically made with regard to spelling, punctuation and grammar usage. In addition, from time to time, slight modifications in word or phrase may assist with the flow of thought. However, if the review committee finds multiple passages in your article unclear or confusing, it may be returned to you with requests for clarification.

·      Please put your footnotes (if you use them) in the text flow with this format: “fn#1” (without the quotes). We will adjust them during the editing process.

·      Article length is limited to three pages, no exceptions. A fourth page may be added only for the use of endnotes or references, and no more than one page. A four-page article with no references will not be accepted.

·      The format to save your document is .doc, the standard for Microsoft Word. If this will not work for you, please save in the RTF format.

·      The use of clip art merely for decorative purposes should be avoided. If images are used as an illustration for content, they will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

·      Don’t include page numbers on your submission. They will be inserted prior to publication on the website to ensure format conformity.

·     For pronoun standardization and clarity, when referring to the Father in heaven, please use a capitalized pronoun, as in “He”. When referring to Yeshua, please use a non-capitalized pronoun, as in “he”, except when that “he” is the first word in a sentence.

Content Guidelines

·      The information contained in the article must be scripturally based. Articles that contain commentary based upon rabbinic tradition or current popular opinion alone will not be accepted. Remember, the goal here is not to repeat material already available elsewhere. It is to bring fresh and new insight concerning the understanding of the Father’s Original Intent and demonstrating this through Yeshua and the apostles teaching.

·      The article must be your own creation. All references to another body of work, in any form, must be properly documented with footnotes or endnotes.

·      The primary focus of each article must be on one commandment only. Certainly, references to other scriptures will occur in the text, but overall, each article is to have only one topic. If you wish to address another commandment, please write a separate article.

·      The purpose of creating this reference work is to illuminate and enable other believers who seek to understand and implement Torah. Hard, unpopular topics will be covered. However, the overall tone of the submissions should be one of sharing, of assistance. If the review committee deems a particular work to be too negative or condemning in manner, the article might not be published.
